Truth and justice is at the center stage with Bar Boys: A New Musical. Debuting on May 2024, the musical is set to have a rerun this coming October to November 2024. It is based on the 2017 film of the same name by Kip Oebanda. The book and lyrics are by Pat Valera, who will return to direct alongside Mikko Angeles.

What is the musical about?
Bar Boys: A New Musical is based on Kip Oebanda’s fan-favorite law school film that was one of the official entries for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino back in 2017. It follows the life of four young hopefuls, Erik, Chris, Torran, and Josh. The musical shows their hopes and aspirations to become lawyers. However, various aspects of their lives are challenged by the suffocating environment of law school and love life.
Who are the cast members?
As mentioned, the musical had its maiden run on May of this year. The original cast — Benedix Ramos, Alex Diaz, Jerom Canlas, Omar Uddin, and Sheila Francisco — will reprise their roles as Erik, Chris, Torran, Josh, and Justice Hernandez respectively. Joining them are Juliene Mendoza and Lorenz Martinez as Paping, Topper Fabregas as Atty. Victor Cruz, Nor Domingo as Atty. Maurice Carlson, Carlon Matobato as the Male Professor, Katrine Sunga as Female Professor, and Gimbey dela Cruz as Boss Mama. Diego Aranda, Ade Valenzona, Edrei Tan, Jannah Baniasia, Uzziel Delamide, Meg Ruiz, and Jam Binay make up the musical’s ensemble.
When and where can we watch?
The musical will run from October 4 to November 3, 2024 only at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati. Specific dates for October include October 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, and 27. For November, show dates include November 2 and 3. Their dates have the usual time slots — 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The total running time of the musical is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
