Where Artistic Identities Meet: Película>Pelikula Manila Spanish Film Festival 2024

Bringing the best of Spanish and Latin American cinema, the 23rd PELÍCULA>PELIKULA Spanish Film Festival returns to the country with a fresh variety of movies. The annual event is organized by the Instituto Cervantes de Manila, an institution that seeks to amplify the cultural bonds between Spain and the Philippines. Free screenings and other special activities will run from October 5 to 13, 2024.

Set to take place in Edsa Shangri-La Plaza Cinemas, the festival will open with Pablo Berger’s 2023 film Robot Dreams, the animated tragicomedy that had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival and bagged numerous accolades such as the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature Film, and a nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards.

A tradition since its inception in 2002, the viewers will be invited to vote for their favorite films in the Audience Choice Award. The film with the highest ratings will receive this year’s Audience Choice Award and will be granted recognition during the closing ceremony on October 13.
