Celebration of triumphs and hopes with ‘Regal Legacy’

Major Filipino production company Regal Entertainment celebrates six decades-long success and their ongoing legacy as they remember their origins and reveal their upcoming projects last September 21 at 38 Valencia Events Place.

Regal Entertainment pays tribute to its founder, “Mother” Lily Monteverde at the said event. Three future film projects that were initially approved and produced by the late matriarch were announced to the public in dedication to fulfilling her dreams for the company even after her death last August, shortly after her husband, Leonardo ‘Remy’ Monteverde’s death. The three unveiled films titled “Guilty Pleasure,” “My Future You,” and “Untold” all vary in genre and are a testament to Regal Entertainment’s aim to provide enjoyment for everyone.

Guilty Pleasure, a social romantic drama directed by Connie Macatuno revolves around three determined lawyers and how they deal with their personal lives getting into the mix of their professional lives. The film stars Lovi Poe, JM De Guzman, and Jameson Blake. My Future You, a romantic comedy by director Crisanto B. Aquino follows two people who live in two different timelines 15 years apart from each other, somehow connecting through a dating app where they attempt to prevent certain events from happening. The cast includes Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, and Almira Muhlach. Untold, a psychological horror directed by Derick Cabrido is about a prominent online personality who climbed her way up through lies that later come back to haunt her. It stars Jodi Sta. Maria, JK Labajo, Gloria Diaz, and Mylene Dizon.

Attendees of the event were witnesses to a presentation that highlighted Regal Entertainment’s most known films and contributions to the country’s entertainment industry, from locally distributed international films to Philippine-produced obras such as Shake, Rattle, & Roll and Mano Po. Alongside the presentation, a Regal Legacy Wall and installations made up of photos, film stills, and memorabilia are displayed to tell more about the company’s roots and growth since its founding in 1962.

On the same day, Roselle Monteverde was introduced as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Keith Monteverde as Executive Vice President. Additionally, Roselle and Dondon Monteverde donated one million pesos to The Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (MOWELFUND) to continuously push Lily Monteverde’s legacy and goals for the industry.

Watch now the teasers of Guilty Pleasure, My Future You, and Untold and catch them in cinemas soon!
